Endometrial Ablation

Endometrial ablation is a procedure used to treat abnormal uterine bleeding or to reduce menstrual flow. It is a vaginal procedure that requires no incisions. The procedure typically takes less than one hour of time. During the procedure, a laser is used to vaporize the lining of the uterus. From there, the healing process after the ablation is what ultimately reduces or prevents the abnormal bleeding.

A watery discharge is common after the procedure and lasts for 1-2 weeks. Typically patients go home the same day and return to their normal level of activity in as little as three days.
